Akaishi

AKAISHI STRIVES TO PROVIDE AN UNFAILING LEVEL OF COMFORT AND SATISFACTION TO EACH CUSTOMER.

After years of research into the structure of women's feet and legs, AKAISHI has discovered the key to long term foot care and health. Through rigorous functional testing, each line of AKAISHI products is able to afford wearers with unsurpassed comfort and support. Following overwhelming success in Japan, AKAISHI aims to bring comfort and health to the feet of women throughout the world.

Most sandals are made either flat or with very little arch support. "Custom" sandals are only custom fitted to support the arch. The advantage that AKAISHI provides is Total Foot Care. Total Foot Care involves working to diminish or prevent foot pain, weary feet, and foot deformations. Simply improving an arch support will not solve these problems. Foot problems can only truly be solved when posture, the bone structure of the foot, and gait (way of walking) are collectively improved. There are many issues that need to be addressed. The functionality of arch support, securing the metatarsus, spreading of the toes, improving posture, and providing support for kick-up during walking are all integrated into the design of each line of AKAISHI sandals.

Our Research:

There are a wide range of foot problems, from clavus (calluses or corns) and blisters, to those requiring specialized medical attention. AKAISHI conducts research and development activities with the Movement and Neuromuscular Research Center at the Niigata University of Health and Welfare under the guidance of professors who are authority figures in the fields of kinesiology and functional anatomy.

Our Technology:

Designing of outsoles, insoles, lasts, and upper belts are all done by 3D computer software. AKAISHI improves the accuracy and speed of designing by digitally managing design data. In addition, product quality is improved by using computers to analyze simulations of strength, flexibility, and softness of materials.

Our Testing:

Evaluating the effectiveness of each product is an essential part of the AKAISHI design process. Experimental validation is conducted using prototypes made with a modeling machine. If the results obtained are not sufficient, the design is reviewed and the process is repeated until all goals are met.
